High speed connections

Serial devices can easily be connected across a LAN/WAN using the DeviceMaster-RTS.
Connect the serial devices to the DeviceMaster-RTS, attach it to the LAN and the application software can now access the remote serial ports as if they were locally connected.

Features and benefits:

  • Access serial devices via Ethernet
  • Solid-state design embedded microcomputer powered by a 44MHz ARM7 processor running Red Hat’s eCos real-time operating system
  • Data storage and local application processing supported by 4MB onboard flash and 8MB onboard RAM
  • 10/100Base-T Ethernet connectivity with built-in hub and downstream port for ‘daisy-chaining’ systems or network-ready devices (4 and 8 port only)
  • Software selectable ports (RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485)
  • 1 to 32 portsConnects serial devices as com/tty ports or acts as a terminal server
  • Host local applications by downloading your own custom programs
  • Web server capability; accessible across the Internet
  • Update programs across the Internet
  • Watchdog Timer to monitor overall system 'health'
  • Embedded Real Time Operating System
  • Serial Tunneling to give serial to serial links across Ethernet without a PC
  • Software Developers Kit (SDK) available
  • Device driver support for Windows XP,2003,2000,NT COM ports & LINUX TTY's
  • Supports sockets programming
  • SNMP client for system monitoring
  • User selectable event monitoring and e-mail notification of event activity
  • Software updates via network download

Custom Development using the DeviceMaster RTS
Developers can develop custom embedded applications for the DeviceMaster platform using our DeviceMaster SDK.
