Product Description

The RocketLinx MC5001 is a 1-port RS-232/422/485 serial to fibre media converter with extended fiber transmission. Single-mode and Multi-mode fiber optic ports meet the needs for long distance transmission up to 40KM.

RocketLinx MC5001 will automatically detect the data baud rate of the connected full-duplex serial device ranging from 300 to 921,600bps. RocketLinx MC5001 supports an auto setting function to change the serial interface, fiber wiring architecture and termination of receiver and transmission lines using the DIP switch.

RocketLinx MC5001 is specially designed for applications requiring good immunity of EMI/EMS such as power distribution substations, rail and traffic control systems under severe electromagnetic interference and wide temperatures range from -20 to 70C.

The RocketLinx MC5001 supports two transmission configurations, Peer to Peer in half/full-duplex and Serial Fibre Ring in half duplex. In a peer-to-peer configuration two fibres are required between the two converters, one for data in each direction (RX and TX). To expand the number of connected serial devices, and extend transmission distance, the MC5001 can link to each other as a ring architecture in Serial Ring Fibre mode.

The MC5001 can be easily wall mounted directly on a DIN rail.
AC 24V (12-32V) or DC 24V (12-48V) is available from different operating environments.

With an IP 30 rigid aluminium case, strong CE/FCC regulatory approvals and a 5 year warranty, the RocketLinx MC5001 is the perfect choice for hazardous applications requiring serial to fiber conversion.
