FlexPoint™ 100Fx/Tx

Fast Ethernet Copper to Fibre Media Converter

FlexPoint 100Fx/Tx image

The FlexPoint 100Fx/Tx serves as a bridge between copper and fibre networks, converting 100BASE-TX signals to 100BASE-FX, ensuring reliable connectivity and extending fibre reach affordably.

Its RJ-45 port automatically adjusts to the optimal performance level of connected devices. Configurations are made easy with manual switch settings and LED indicators providing clear guidance, catering to legacy systems or specific network demands.

Supporting various connectors and wavelengths, the FlexPoint 100Fx/Tx fibre port accommodates diverse setups. Multimode models cover distances up to 5km, while single-mode variants reach up to 120km.

LED indicators offer diagnostic insights during network setup and maintenance, displaying power availability, port activity, link status, duplex mode, and errors.

Featuring a crossover switch, this converter eliminates the need for crossover cables, streamlining connections to switches or workstations.

Mounting options include wall-mounting hardware, DIN-rail brackets, or rack-mounting in 5-Module or 14-Module Powered Chassis configurations.

Powering options vary from external AC to DC adapters to 5VDC chassis connectors, ensuring flexibility and redundancy as network needs evolve.

The array of mounting and powering choices offers scalable upgrade paths, making the FlexPoint ideal for adapting to changing network requirements.

In Enterprise and Government networks worldwide, FlexPoint unmanaged media converters deliver user-friendly fibre connectivity solutions.

In this example of an enterprise campus application, FlexPoint 100Fx/Tx media converters are deployed in a 14-Module Redundant Power chassis to facilitate high-density fibre distribution from the UTP switch equipment at the Network Core. A UTP workgroup switch (A) is linked via fibre to a standalone FlexPoint 100Fx/Tx media converter. Another FlexPoint 100Fx/Tx media converter is used to transition from fibre to UTP in a fibre-to-desktop scenario (B). Additionally, an Ethernet switch (C) is directly connected through fibre to the FlexPoint module at the Network Core. Both multimode and single-mode fibres are applicable, with the capability to extend fibre links up to 120km using single-mode fibre.
