The FlexPoint 10FL/T is a media converter that transitions 10BASE-T copper to 10BASE-FL fiber, offering dependable and economical network connectivity and fibre extension.
The RJ-45 port auto-negotiates the duplex mode with connected devices for seamless plug-and-play installations. It also corrects wiring polarity reversals and includes a crossover switch, removing the need for crossover cables and simplifying connections to hubs, switches, and workstations.
The fibre port, operating at 850nm, 1310nm, or 1550nm, comes with ST or SC connectors. Multimode fibre supports up to 5km, while single-mode fibre reaches up to 120km.
Link Propagate, a fault detection feature of the FlexPoint 10FL/T, locally indicates remote link losses by disabling the port and transferring the loss from one port to another.
LED indicators on the FlexPoint 10FL/T provide easy installation and maintenance, showing power availability, port activity, link status, as well as speed and duplex modes.
FlexPoint modules offer versatility in mounting, with options for wall-mounting hardware, DIN-rail mounting brackets, or rack-mounting in a 5-Module shelf or a 14-Module power-redundant Powered Chassis.
Power options for FlexPoint modules are equally versatile, with external AC to DC power adapters, a 5VDC chassis connector, or an external DC power supply ranging from 18-60VDC. In a 14-Module Powered Chassis, modules are powered through the 5VDC chassis connector, regardless of the AC and DC power supply combination.
The array of mounting and power configurations for FlexPoint modules ensures adaptable upgrade paths as network demands evolve.

Two FlexPoint 10FL/T media converters are utilized to link a pair of 10BASE-T switches (A) through a fibre connection.
Both a workstation (B) and a file server (C) are integrated into the network via FlexPoint 10FL/T media converter pairs. These converters are set up for full-duplex functionality. For each connection, either multimode or single-mode fibre may be employed, with the capability to extend fibre links up to 120 kilometers using single-mode fibre.
