The miConverter Gx is a miniature Gigabit RJ-45 copper to 1000Base-X fibre media converter, providing a cost-effective copper to fibre conversion solution.
With their small size, they are ideal to fibre to the desktop / laptop under desk deployments and mission-critical field diagnostic applications.
Featuring Small Form Pluggable (SFP) transceivers that support 1000Base-X for interoperability with Gigabit fibre equipment, the SFP transceivers enable adaptability to different fibre types and distances, even supporting Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing (CWDM) technology to increase the bandwidth capability of fibre infrastructure.
The fixed fibre models support single and multimode dual fibre with ST, SC and LC connectors, and singlemode, single fibre with SC connectors.
The miConverter Gx is plug and play, simplifying deployments. Auto-negotiation allows for connected network devices to auto-negotiate their Duplex and Pause modes, but the Gx also provides manual configuration via DIP switches for compatibility with legacy Gigabit fibre products, ensuring it is compatible with the widest range of Gigabit fibre equipment.
miConverter models with barrel connectors can be mounted in the 18-module power chassis to consolidate individual modules into a rack-mount form that can be deployed where multiple fibre optic links are distributed from UTP switch equipment.
This rack is 1.5u high, and can be mounted in a standard 19″ or 23″ equipment rack.

Enterprise Network
In this application, an Enterprise Ethernet Network with star topology is providing multiple fibre links to remote buildings.
In the upper left, 3 copper UTP links from a core copper switch are converted to 3 fibre links with a miConverter 18-module chassis of media converter modules.
At the remote buildings, each fibre is then converted back to copper using a standalone miConverter unit. In this example multimode, single-mode or single-mode single fibre can be used.
