Managed Industrial Multi-Gigabit/Multi-Rate 100M, 1G, 2.5G, 5G, 10G Ethernet Switch
The RuggedNet 10GMG/Mi switches are managed industrial multi-gigabit Ethernet switches that come with a 1/10G SFP/SFP+ or multi-gigabit/multi-rate RJ-45 uplink port, alongside two multi-gigabit/multi-rate RJ-45 and two 10/100/1000 RJ-45 downlink/access ports.
These RJ-45 user ports are capable of multi-gigabit/multi-rate speeds ranging from 100Mbps to 10Gbps.
Featuring a Small Form Pluggable (SFP) transceiver receptacle port, the RuggedNet switches support a diverse array of copper and fiber transceivers. They accommodate 10/100/1000BASE-T, 1000BASE-T, 2.5GBASE-T, 5GBASE-T, and 10GBASE-T copper transceivers, as well as 1G and 10G multimode or single-mode fiber transceivers across standard, CWDM, and DWDM wavelengths.
Directed Switch mode is supported by all models, channeling multicast traffic like video exclusively to the designated uplink port to prevent network port congestion.
Operation modes can be set via DIP-switches or through Web, Telnet, SSH, SNMPv1/v2c/v3, or Serial Console management interfaces, which support both IPv4 and IPv6. These interfaces allow for various filtering and security settings, including broadcast storm prevention, IGMP, IEEE 802.1x, RADIUS, TACACS+, and Access Control Lists, with the addition of email notifications and alarm reporting.
An alarm relay for detecting user-specified events is also present, with configurable normally open or normally closed operations. There’s also an alarm input for external event detection, such as a door being opened or closed.
Mounting options for all models include wall or rack mounting with a bracket and shelf, or DIN-rail mounting with the provided clip. Dual DC input power is available for these switches.

Security & Small Cell Application
In this example of an industrial manufacturing application, IP cameras and Wi-Fi 6/6E Access Points are deployed throughout a vast manufacturing facility. A fiber link from the control room is distributed to RuggedNet switches featuring a fiber SFP port via an iConverter® XM5 aggregation fiber switch.
Each RuggedNet 10GMG/Mi switch offers a fully managed solution for an IP camera and a Wireless Access Point, both of which can be situated up to 100 meters away from the switches.
The camera and access point are capable of utilizing full bandwidth, thanks to the 10G fibre uplink port available on each 10GMG/Mi switch.
Small Cell
The demand for bandwidth from small cell devices is growing, with speeds of 10Gbps becoming the norm for today’s equipment.
In a typical application, high-speed small cell devices that require bandwidths of up to 10Gbps are installed around multiple buildings. An iConverter® XM5 aggregation fiber switch distributes a fiber link to each RuggedNet switch.
The RuggedNet 10GMG/Mi switches offer a managed solution, supporting speeds of up to 10Gbps on the RJ-45 user ports.
