The OmniConverter GPoEBT/S are multiport Ethernet media converters, supporting IEEE802.3BT 60 and 100W PoE, and featuring one or two uplink ports and one or two 10/100/1000 RJ-45 PoE user ports.
PoE power is supported up to 100W per RJ-45 user port, along with frame sizes up to 10,240 bytes.
Uplink port options are fixed fibre, SFP, or 10/100/1000 RJ-45 copper ports.
Directed Switch Mode which directs multicast traffic to only the appropriate uplink port is also supported – preventing multicast traffic from flooding other network ports.
Models with two fibre ports support redundant fibre uplinks for critical applications that require protection and restoration in the event of fibre failure.
This second fibre port can also be used to cascade multiple media converters.
These models with two fibre ports also support Dual Device Mode – enabling the OmniConverter to operate as two indepenent and isolated Ethernet media converters. In this mode, the GPoEBT/S provides separate and independent data traffic paths between the two uplink ports and two user ports.
Link modes, and PoE power reset are configurable features on the GPoEBT/S. The Power reset feature can be used to remotely reset a PD device, removing the need for a costly site visit, whereas the link modes can be configured to propogate loss-of-link faults to managed devices, notifying administrators immediately of network outages.
Fixed fibre connectors and 100/1000Mbps SFP transceivers are supported, enabling easy adaptability to different fibre types, distances and wavelengths.
10/100/1000 SGMII or 1Gbps SERDES copper transceivers, along with 100/1000Mbps standard, CWDM and DWDM fibre transceivers are also supported, in a variety of distances and fibre types.

Security & Wireless
In this example – IP surveillance cameras and Wi-FI Access Points are installed through a facility. The fibre link is distributed throughout the facility from a network switch where OmniConverter media converters with dual fibre ports are connected.
The second fibre port on the OmniConverter is used to daisy-chain the fibre to the next location, where another OmniCOnverter with one fibre port terminates the fibre and converts to copper.
The OmniConverter media converter provides Power over Ethernet (PoE) over UTP cables to an IP camera and Wi-Fi Access Point at each location, each of which can be located up to 100m from the media converter.
Some cameras with heaters / blowers or pan/tilt/zoom motors require 60W or 100W. The OmniConverter can be used to power these devices.
